My cane

Back when my youngest son Mark was 10 yrs old(now 25) He went out in the woods and cut me a cane because I was hurting in my back and I would walk with a mop around the house. It was really pretty with a twisted handle and all, he carved MUM in it and we stained and varnished it.

Later on in years he said "Mom you bead everything" . I was just getting into free form beading so I decided to bead some on the cane, this is the results. He loves it, I love it and everyone that has seen it loves it. I was offered $200.00 for it one time, but no amount of money could buy this act of love.

I decided to cover it with things you find in the woods, and incorporate the things he found or gave me too, like the pewter owl, and the stone he dove down and brought up in the spring at the White River in Cotter Arkansas.

The cane was beaded back in 2000 or 2001 and even though he has broke my heart and spirits many times, it stands in the corner of my bedroom to remind me , "he is still my baby boy".

Mini pin challange

My beaded art doll group is having a mini pin challenge, so I decided to join in . Here are my pins.

I haven't been doing well lately, been down with my back and fibro is really acting up. Of course the weather has a lot to do with it , as well as personal problems building up. Speaking of weather , we don't know weather to wear shorts or jackets, it will be cold one day, then raining, then hot, then back to cold, that is what brought on the tornados 2 weeks ago. A LOT of damage all around.

Second doll

The ladies on Beaded Art Dolls were having a Valentine doll swap. I don't like to join swaps because it causes me to worry and panic about the time line. So I just beaded a doll for myself, and got her done in plenty of time if I would have joined the swap. This is a picture of her, her name is Lovenya.

Started making dolls

Well, I went and jumped in . I have for years wanted to make beaded art dolls, but never really got into it.

I was invited to join a doll group from a wonderful lady Lynn in Oz.She had seen my Pisca album and liked my work so she sent me an invite. Let me tell you it was the best thing I did. I finally got up the courage to start beading dolls and now I can't quit, not that I want to .lol

The first doll I started was a Mardi Gras doll, as I am originally from Louisiana and miss the festive season of Mardi Gras, up here in Arkansas they don't celebrate anything but Hogs and Chuck wagon races. Louisiana celebrates everything from bugs, to watermelon, anything to have a party.
I hope to post something weekly but it will probably end up weakly.

The right one

Maybe God wanted us to meet the wrong people before meeting the right one so that when we finally meet the right person, we will know how to be grateful for that gift.
