I have been wanting to bead a mermaid, so I decided to bead a mermaid for my birthday doll for the BAD group I am on .
Well being as I am a Gemini and my sign is the twins, I decided to do twin mermaid dolls. My wonderful friend Ralonda sent me the 2 mermaid dolls for me to bead. The next thing is to think of color.
I chose green for one of the maids, because I am still green in my doll beading. She wears a pearl belt, pearl being one of my birthstones. On that belt swings a heart, because of the heart scare I had this year. it was fun beading her, but I don't think I like doing the sequin thing, I am glad to be finished with that .
The next one is blue, she stands for all of the blue moments I had during the year and she wears a headband of red coral , it stands for finding out this year that I had a problem with blood pressure and had to be put on meds for it. She also has a belt of pearls.
They are not Identical because I don't feel like myself at times , I fell a little different.
Their treasure chest contains more pearls, my other birthstone Alexandrite, gold, because I am in my golden years . A stone for each of my 3 children and my 6 grandchildren. It also has a crown in front because of a past boyfriend, he used to call me "The Queen " or "Queenie" and I received from him crowns (tiara's) for different occasions. So I have a bunch of them. I also wanted to have something to do with my Yorkies but just couldn't fit them in.
So this is the meaning of my birthday dolls for this year, even though they are 6 days early.

Really cool, Rosalie. I love the way everything on it has something to do with your life. Never thought to do something like that.
Amazing work, can't believe you consider yourself 'green', it looks perfect to me!

Take care,

I enjoyed reading how you put your health matters into beading. That had to be a very healing process for you. I especially liked how you used colours for different things. It's a very lovely work of art! Please do keep it up! I look very much forward to seeing a lot more of your art!
